All aboard the crazy train! Choo choo! I might buy this.
[Update 10/11/18] Verbal offer accepted. Driving out Sunday to complete the purchase.
1986 Honda Civic Shuttlewagon. Pushbutton 4WD, 6-speed manual with “super low” gear. Doesn’t run “due to a carb problem” but the price seems reasonable at $2,000 OBO.
Downside is it is about 2.5 hrs from my house. Good news is... well there isn’t any. I haven’t bought a car in over a year and I’ve been getting... itchy. I think these are neat so... uhh...
Hmmm....

$2k for a 30 year old, non-running car is only reasonable to a Jalop. Ha!
What would one of these sell for if it was running well?

Like... $2k? Haha. I don’t really know. I inquired on one a few months ago. It was running and driving, though rough all around, and it went for $2,100 in a matter of hours.
I’d try and talk him down to $1.5k. It is clean, cheap, and cheerful so... meh. Also firmly in the toy budget.

I’ve seen completely clapped out versions sell for $2500, so $2k for one that looks pretty clean but doesn’t run seems like a decent price.
I’ve always wanted one of these (awd version) to do a boosted d-series swap in to troll STIs with.

What’s the 6th gear? Is that the “super low” one? It’s rare that I see a lunchbox (what we used to call them) any more.

Yeah. Normal 5-speed + SL = 6-speed

Sounds like a terrible idea so of course I fully support it.

I would pick up a Loyale before one of those..
Also I’ve seen half a dozen of these awd vans for peanuts..
I don’t have any peanuts though..

I could get behind a Brat, but not sure about the Loyale.

You obviously haven’t met the right Loyales..

I drove a Loyale once and was shocked at how slow it was. It felt slower than my Sprint did.

Wow, that thing brings back memories of my mom's '86 Civic 3-door. Same color, same steering wheel, same spindly shifter.

There’s a dude around me with a lifted Loyale with open headers. The mountain folk can be weird.
